Bill Johnson-Miles, a retired Navy veteran and active community leader in Stafford County, announced his endorsement today of Vangie Williams for Virginia’s 1st Congressional District. Johnson-Miles’ endorsement adds to the growing list of citizens, community leaders and elected officials backing Williams’ candidacy for the U.S. House of Representatives.
“What sets her apart from the other candidates are her experience, education and leadership qualities,” said Johnson-Miles. “She is a strategic planner and problem solver, a real-world professional with 30 years of experience. Vangie knows the federal government and will hit the ground running once elected.”
Johnson-Miles is a 20-year retired Navy veteran with a total of 34 years of public service. Most recently he worked 11 years as a civil servant for the Marine Corps on Quantico. Now fully retired, he is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Fredericksburg, Secretary of the Stafford County Democratic Committee, a member of the Stafford NAACP and a member of the Stafford Indivisible Community Action Network
“Bill is a shining example of a changemaker in the community,” said Williams. “He is person of service, always willing to help others and bring people together. I am thankful for his endorsement and his dedication to making a positive impact around the district.”
Williams is committed to fighting for an economy that works for everyone and ensuring families in the 1st District have access to world-class healthcare. Through investments in education and transportation, and by reinvesting in our communities, Williams aims to bring jobs to the 1st District and help our hometown heroes.
“She will make a remarkable representative,” added Johnson-Miles.
The groundswell of support for Williams is a sign that people want new leadership in Washington. Williams has received endorsements from members of the Senate of Virginia, the House of Delegates, national organizations, community leaders and citizens.
